Amedeo Romagna D.O.C. Sangiovese Superiore Riserva
Amedeo is an impressive and layered red wine, made from 100% Sangiovese sourced from the old ‘Vecchia’ vineyard, planted in 1968. This northeast-facing vineyard produces grapes with a unique character. The wine is crafted using a distinctive method: half of the harvest is dried for one month before pressing, while the other half is pressed immediately after picking. Both parts are then blended in French Allier oak tonneaux, where the wine continues to age.
The maturation lasts 20 to 22 months in oak barrels, followed by an additional 4 months of bottle aging. The result is a wine of power and depth.
In the glass, Amedeo shows an impenetrable ruby-red color. The bouquet is complex and captivating, offering a harmony of floral notes, ripe blackberries, and a refreshing spicy touch. On the palate, it is powerful and structured, with pronounced tannins, minerality, and a long finish. The alcohol content of 15% enhances its bold yet balanced style.
Amedeo is already impressive now but also has the potential to evolve for many years — a wine for both the enthusiast and the collector.
